Rats

  • Trained in a single pellet grasping task to assess fine motor control of the forlimb
  • After 1 month, inducement of stroke in motor cortex
  • Random separation of rats in different cohorts
  • Training and testing (rehabilitation) sessions were recorded

Humans

  • Adults subjects diagnosed with MS or hydrocephalus, plus healthy controls subjects
  • Walked barefoot on an instrumented treadmill at fixed walking speed
  • Recordings before and after treatment

Mice

  • Habituated to locomote on top of a wheel with irrefular rung distance while being head-fixed
  • After at least 5 days, inducement of photothrombotic stroke
